We are eating our way around the island in efforts to get to know our new home. And by that, I mean going beyond usual hawker fare as you notice the illustration below, there is plenty to choose from.
It's not easy though - where in the Northern Hemisphere, I would have relied on Serious Eats or the NYT reviews, there is no similar source for foodie news that isn't just paid PR schpiel.

So I am googling, and filtering through reviews, and finding out places through word-of-mouth. This is an attempt to document our favourites. In time, we will have a list just as strong as in NYC. Please check back regularly.
- Pizza Fabrica - Arab Street - a pizza joint in the midst of middle eastern restaurants.
- Artichoke Cafe - Bras Basah - wonderful Mediterranean place that puts a subtle spin on the usual suspects. They make a mean feta burrata spread.
- P.S. Cafe - beautiful bunch of restaurants set in beautiful settings, especially the ones in Dempsey and Ann Siang.
- Sugarhall - sister restaurant to kick-ass cocktail bar Jigger and Pony next door. The 'small' bites are not so tiny and is as yummy as their cocktails.
