New York New York on Orchard

Hello hello, long time no see! My laptop at home went kaput and after months of waiting for it to get fixed, I have finally given up and have dug up an archaic machine.

Anyhoo, let's get started on the backlog of outfit photos, shall we? This was taken one Friday evening in late June - possibly the last date night we had before flying off to New York (where we spent a glorious couple of weeks).

Anthropologie New York, New York dress (a favourite years on!); vintage Chanel flap; Ivy Kirzhner Babel sandals (my wedding shoes!) (available here too); Dinosaur Designs resin bangles; and Essie Bikini So Teeny.

We had dinner at a vegetarian restaurant, Joie, in the heart of Orchard - which, contrary to expectations, is pronounced 'joy'. Without holding that oddity against them, we LOVED everything about our meal.

Firstly, it's located on the topmost floor of one of the many malls on the strip - but with a exceptional rooftop garden (that's the restaurant on the right):

... with Japanese koi in a pond (hello good fortune!):
Arriving at dusk, this was our view:

Some of the dishes were yummier than others, but every plate set down in front of us looked fascinating and had no lack of originality. I didn't want to come across as an obnoxious diner so only took a couple of photos: the 'sashimi' with carrots and vegetable 'tartare' below:

I was so full post-meal, I barely made the 10-minute walk home before desperately unzipping my dress to accommodate my expanding second trimester ribcage! I've since relegated the dress into storage to be pulled out again in 2016.
