2013 was a great year for me - a fresh job, a fitter lifestyle and a wonderful new husband. Ending the year on a high made making 2014 goals a little contrived. Regardless I like thinking about style resolutions - which on a fundamental level really means shopping a little less. I pledge to, however, continue to be smart about my purchases, and only add items to my wardrobe that are like nothing I currently own.
Ergo, you saw the new kicks and hat, now let me introduce you to my latest obsession - Clover Canyon. This is a brand I've known of for months but while they appealed to my print-loving personality, their initial designs didn't quite rock my boat. Also the scuba-like fabric that appears in a lot of their designs can be rather unforgiving when used on slim silhouettes.
Then they go and release an art-deco-inspired collection. Boom, dead. Come at me, neoprene.
Back to the dress. I think Clover Canyon's upcoming designs are fantastic - I love the Robot Flamingo print in this peplum top, the Cuban Tile print in a breezy top and slim-cut pants , the Banana Scarf pattern in a sweatshirt, this architecture-print in a midi-skirt. But my jaw dropped to the floor upon setting eyes on the Greece collection for Summer 2014, which is on pre-order at Moda Operandi for another few days. I loveeeee everything - the exquisite pleating, the Greek vase/sculptures motifs and the all-round use of the colour blue! I am prepared to sell my soul for this dress, in particular.
Clover Canyon Gatsby dress (on sale here and also available in a flippy-skirt version here), Alexis Bittar earrings, Spanx Tight-End tights over Plush fleece tights, vintage Chanel, Stuart Weitzman Half N' Half boots (GREAT for narrower calves) |
Until next time!
This dress is AMAZING. I love the print. It looks great with your bold red lip and dark complexion. If Clover Canyon was more suited to my budget I would be all over one of those sweatshirts. Also, I love the boots - I'm glad you found a pair you like ;)
ReplyDeleteCC is an expensive habit to have.. they tend to go on sale (which is how I picked up the pieces I have). Though they are getting increasingly popular, my days of picking up a good piece at a discount are numbered I think. The boots are fantastic Lisa - I am glad my search is over.
DeleteWow, you look FAB in this dress - that piece was made for you!
