In honour of a close friend's birthday, we chartered a vintage Hinckley two weekends ago for lovely a sail on a warm summer's day. Having had the luxury of sailing on the Sydney Harbour many times, I am slightly embarrassed to admit that while I've been in the city for three summers, this was my first time out on a boat on the Hudson. (And no, the Frying Pan does not count!).
With champagne in hand, we began our sail from Pier 25, allowing us to admire the Manhattan and Jersey City skyline as we made our way to the Lady:
On the way, we waved to every other sailboat, ferry and giant cruise ship we passed:
The water was calm and the wind was in our sails - making this a super fun way to bask in the nice weather. Definitely adding sailing as a summer must-do from here on out.

That looks like a great way to spend a summer day. That last photo of you is stunning!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I lived in NY for a big chunk of my life and I never went boating on the Hudson so don't feel bad :)
ReplyDeleteLoving the dress!
Great shots! What a fun activity for Summer! :)
ReplyDeleteNow this is one of those summer things I've always wanted to experience... And your sailor whites are to die for- like you strayed off-course at Cannes... :)
