Juices and Stitches

I started a three-day juice cleanse today. It was much welcome after the gastronomic adventure I had in Philly this past weekend (recap to follow).

Day 1 has been fairly fine. The juices actually taste yummy (apart from the the daily chlorophyll shot that tastes like grass, surprise surprise). However I have been caught off guard by the frequency I have to empty my bladder. I shouldn't be, since there is a LOT of liquid in every glass jar - 16oz/ 500 ml. But certainly no fun whatsoever when the office loo is 77 steps from my desk (yes, I counted).

I would be lying if I said I wasn't hungry - bearably so. What isn't so tolerable is the fact that I am spending every waking moment thinking about what I am going to eat on Thursday and beyond. Wish me luck kids, there are 2 more days of this.

This is what I wore to an intro to machine sewing class I took today:
Zara silk tee with stars, Cue Australia skinny black pants, Lanvin kitten heels, Anthropologie Dessert Crossing Scarf and stripey blue ribbon from the craft store

My mum used to sew on a manual Singer machine. I am still extremely sad it did not survive my parents' last house move.

I learnt to prepare a sewing machine (of the electronic kind) including wind a bobbin, thread the needle on various machine models and practice stitches. At the end of the 2-hour class, we created a reusable shopping bag all on our own. Take that Baggu!

  1. Way to go with your sewing venture! I took a sewing class one summer in junior high. I ended up making some hideous tie-dyed babydoll dress. Needless to say, I never went back for another class, although now I wish I would have pursued my sewing skills further!
